TCU hoops adds former four-star transfer from Texas AM

The Frogs announced today the addition of Alex Robinson, a point guard from Arlington by way of Texas A&M to the program. Robinson will sit out this season due to NCAA transfer rules, but will have three years of eligibility left starting in 2016-17.

"Alex is an explosive point guard," said head coach Trent Johnson. "He plays with good speed and is capable of making plays for himself as well as his teammates. He was one of the top players in the country his senior year in high school. We are very fortunate to be able to add a player with his talent to our roster at this time of year."

Robinson played 32 games as a Freshman in College Station and played 18.8 minutes/game. He shot 41.9 percent from the floor and 36.1 percent from beyond 3-point range during the 2014-15 campaign for the Aggies.

Robinson was rated a four-star prospect by Rivals.com as the 10th best point guard and the 47th overall prospect nationally in the class of 2014.

Robinson played his first two prep seasons at Timberview High School in Arlington where he earned All-State accolades along with all-district and team MVP honors. He averaged over 23 points per contest as a senior.

Robinson joins Three-Star Small Forward Josh Parrish (6'5" 190) in The Frogs 2016 class.
