TCU Baseball 2016 recruits have arrived

The TCU Baseball program just keeps on bringing smiles to fans faces on almost a daily basis. First it was Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle winning Coach of the Year honors, then it was the extensions given to his assistants, then the announcement that All-American pitcher Mitchell Traver would be returning and now we see the class of 2016 recruits gathering at Coach Schlossnagle's house for a night of fellowship.

Notice the heavy emphasis on the power arms here. Charles King and Nick Lodolo were ranked #26 and #48, respectively. Lodolo was drafted 41st overall by the Pittsburgh Pirates, but chose to attend TCU instead of going pro. We talked about how much player flexibility this class has on this week's Purple Menace Podcast. Drew Medford could be a pitcher or catcher on this team. Cal Coughlin and Trey Morris could be pitchers or infielders and Jake Eissler could play outfield or pitch. Add in a catcher, Zach Humphreys, and two outfielders, Zack Arambula and Bryan Sturges and this may be the best group of recruits Jim Schlossnagle has ever brought in. And this doesn't include the 95th ranked player, LHP Dion Henderson, who will be arriving in the fall. This TCU Baseball team is going to be stacked and will be a powerhouse in college baseball for years to come.
