TCU got its third commit of the 2017 class over the weekend in Cypress Ranch (Texas) receiver RJ Sneed.

Sneed, a 3-star recruit, announced his decision Saturday night. He told Purple Menace it is a solid commitment.

The wideout joins current TCU commits Shawn Robinson and Wes Harris. He said he made his choice because of his relationships with the coaches and because of how he felt about the school.

“I feel like it will be a great fit,” Sneed said.

The junior was recruited by co-offensive coordinator Sonny Cumbie and cornerbacks coach Paul Gonzales. At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, he would give the Horned Frogs another athletic weapon on the outside in the Air Raid offense.

Sneed has worked both as a receiver and as a punt returner. He has good speed in the open field and demonstrates a lot of strength as a run blocker, something TCU head coach Gary Patterson always wants in his receivers.

The up-tempo spread offense TCU runs continues to be an attractive feature for skill players. Sneed plays in a pro-style offense at Cypress Ranch. At TCU, he'll be part of a much more pass-heavy attack.

Sneed earned First-Team All-District as a receiver and a returner in District 17-6A last season. He caught 33 passes for 541 yards and nine touchdowns.
