Kerry Johnson joins #CarterBoys17

This morning the TCU Horned Frogs added another safety to the class of 2017 with the addition of Spring Westfield's Kerry Johnson. Johnson is a 6-foot-1 180 pound free safety who was named District 16-6A MVP. Johnson visited TCU on Friday and looked to have a great time.

I talked with Kerry this morning to get the scoop on what led to his decision to become a Horned Frog.

What was the visit like for yourself and your family?

"We really enjoyed it, wish we could spend a lil more time down there."

Who were the coaches that recruited you?

"Coach (Paul) Gonzales recruited me and I came down here for a camp."

Did you talk about which safety position you would play?

"Probably free safety but I'm willing to play anything that helps this team win games."

What would you say your best skills as a safety are?

"Being very physical and patient."

Who did you spend time with on your visit?

"Julius Lewis was telling me how amazing the students are down here and the coaches expect a lot from the football players."

What does being a member of #CarterBoys17 mean to you?

"It means a lot because I knew this where I wanted to be and now it's a dream come true."

Today he made the decision to better himself on and off of the football field. He joins Noah Daniels and Lakendrick Van Zandt as the defensive backs TCU has added to the 2017 class.

Everybody welcome Kerry to the Horned Frog Family!
