Three days ago, Shawn Olden announced on Twitter that he was committing to TCU to continue his basketball and academic career. I caught up with Shawn earlier today and got to ask him a few questions about why he chose to finish his basketball career at TCU over Kansas, UCONN, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Missouri and UNLV.

What made TCU stand out over the other schools?

"The atmosphere & the new era that Coach Dixon & his staff are building there. Seeing their need for a SG obviously is great for me. And all the guys were great on my visit, seemed like some guys I could for sure go to battle with."

Did getting to be closer to home factor into the decision at all?

"Somewhat, I tried to not think about what's closest to home until I got closer to the end of my recruiting process."

How does your game fit in Jamie Dixon's style of play?

"I see myself in a great situation with playing in Dixon's system. With the guys we have we will be able to run a bunch of different things."

I also asked him about his eligibility and he did say that he had two years remaining to play at TCU. The addition of Shawn Olden gives TCU another combo guard that can get to the basket and has the range to consistently knock down the three ball. He gives the Horned Frogs some much needed punch off of the bench as well.
