The takeover of Louisiana is still going strong for the TCU Horned Frogs in the 2018 recruiting cycle. Eddie Smith, a cornerback from Slidell, LA and 7-on-7 teammate of fellow 2018 commit Justin Rogers with the Louisiana Bootleggers joins the Horned Frogs tonight. Smith commits to the Horned Frogs one day after the Frogs added another player from "The Boot" with the commitment of athlete John Stephens Jr.

Eddie Smith has the size that Gary Patterson covets in his corners and good speed to go along with that size. Smith was one of the first names to pop up after Justin Rogers committed to TCU two weeks ago and Smith got his offer from TCU just days before Rogers made his decision. Smith is a gifted athlete and is just beginning to scratch the surface of his potential as a defensive back. Getting coached by Gary Patterson will surely make him fulfill that potential in Fort Worth.

Smith becomes the fifth commit in the 2018 class from Louisiana and TCU has close ties to many more. TCU has 11 players from Louisiana currently on its 2018 football team.
