TCU will be without defensive end Devonte Fields when it plays LSU on Aug. 31 to open the 2013 season.
The Frogs have suspended the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year for the first two games of the 2013 season, Gary Patterson announced Wednesday.
Fields was in violation of "team and university policy," according to a press release sent out by the team media relations department.
The Arlington Martin product led TCU with 18.5 tackles for loss, including 10 sacks last season. He racked up 53 tackles.
Fields will also miss the Frogs' home opener Sept. 7 against Southeastern Louisiana.
