TCU signs 22 in class headlined by Hicks, Allen

TCU signed 22 players Wednesday, completing the 2013 recruiting class.

Arlington Martin's Kyle Hicks headlined the group along with Temple quarterback Zach Allen, who was one of three commits to enroll in January.

Hicks, the 23rd-ranked running back in the country, was the Horned Frogs' lone four-star. Thirteen other signees were ranked nationally at their respective positions, including Charlie Reid (No. 17 tight end), Allen (No. 18 dual-threat quarterback) and Paul Whitmill (No. 26 outside linebacker).

Of the 22 players who signed, 17 were three-stars, two were two stars and one -- late JUCO commit Mike Tuaua -- was unranked.

Still, Tuaua, at 6-foot-2, 260 pounds, provides the Frogs with a Big 12-ready contributor at defensive end. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Bryson Burtnett and Eason Fromayan were TCU's other two early enrollees.

TCU coach Gary Pattersonmet with the media Wednesday afternoon. Watch the video to the right for Patterson's take on the class.

Stick with Purple Menace throughout the evening and into tomorrow as we break down the 2013 class and look forward to 2014.
