Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge adds elite talent

MORE: R100 Five-Star Challenge growing roster
Rivals/VTO camp coverage

Rivals.com is already the nation's leader in football recruiting coverage and now it is taking the camp circuit by storm this summer with the inaugural Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge.

The Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge will be the preeminent camp focusing on the top prospects from the 2013 class with a sneak peek at some of the best 2014 recruits as well.

The inaugural Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge will be held June 22-24 at Lakewood Stadium in Atlanta, Ga., comprised of 100 prospects from four different regions of the country, including many of the highest-ranked players in the land.

The rosters are nearing completion with some of the top prospects in the entire country eager to compete against elite competition.

The nation's No. 2 overall prospect, Auburn (Ala.) linebacker Reuben Foster leads the way, but the Alabama commit is not the only five-star prospect set to compete. With only 11 players currently holding Rivals.com five-star status, six are signed up.

The nation's top two quarterbacks in Max Browne and Tyrone Swoopes, who are commit to USC and Texas respectively, will lead their 7-on-7 squads. Olney (Md.) Good Counsel cornerback Kendall Fuller, the No. 4 overall player in the country, will provide a tough matchup for the two five-star passers. Defensive end Kenny Bigelow, a USC pledge, and cornerback Cameron Burrows, an Ohio State pledge, round out the list of five-stars currently set to take the field.

Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington linebacker Matthew Thomas, currently the highest-ranked four-star prospect and the No. 12 overall player in the country, will show off his skills as will the nation's top receiver in Sealy (Texas) High standout Ricky Seals-Jones, who will be catching passes from fellow Texas commit Swoopes. Florida State linebacker commit E.J. Levenberry Jr. of Woodbridge (Va.) C.D. Hylton is yet another top 20 prospect signed up to attend.

"This camp is the ultimate one-stop shopping for recruiting analysts as well as recruiting and college football fans," Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Mike Farrell said. "Not only are we going to see the best of the best from this year's class, but we will get a peek into 2014 and see how those guys stand up against older prospects. When you can see a Reuben Foster go against a Derrick Green or a Ricky Seals-Jones battle Kendall Fuller, what more can you ask for?

RIVALS NATIONAL UNDERCLASSMEN CHALLENGE
Rivals.com isn't done with the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge. The nation's leader in recruiting coverage also is pleased to announce the invite-only Rivals.com National Underclassmen Challenge, which will be held July 8 in Dallas. More details will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead.
The talent does not stop there, though. Placer (Calif.) defensive end Eddie Vanderdoes, currently the No. 20 prospect in the country, has seen his stock soar this spring perhaps as much as any other player in the nation. He is looking forward to going against some top offensive linemen at the event, such as fellow Rivals100 prospects Chris Fox and Jake Raulerson, who are committed to Michigan and Texas, respectively.

The nation's top tight end and No. 22 overall prospect, Penn State commit Adam Breneman, will be in action as will the No. 3 tight end and No. 55 overall prospect DeSean Smith. Both have proven themselves to be dangerous threats in the passing game and will provide big targets for their respective quarterbacks.

Oklahoma running back pledge Greg Bryant of Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage is the No. 23 overall prospect in the country and will show off his pass-catching abilities out of the backfield. He will be joined in action by fellow Sooner commits D.J. Ward and Stanvon Taylor.

Charlotte North (N.C.) Mallard Creek wide receiver Marquez North and Mission Viejo (Calif.) safety Max Redfield are two more top 30 prospects in the country that will be on display.

There are five players ranked in the 30's that will be in action as well. Wide receiver LaQuon Treadwell, safety Leon McQuay III, linebacker Jaylon Smith, Auburn linebacker commit Trey Johnson and Clemson linebacker commit Dorian O'Daniel make up that group.

Others among the overall top 50 players in the country set to be in attendance include Ohio State athlete commit Jalin Marshall, Auburn defensive end commit Dee Liner, Michigan linebacker commit Mike McCray and running back Justin Davis.

In addition the top 50 players, many other Rivals100 prospects will be on hand as well. They include wide receiver Steven Mitchell, Florida State offensive line commit Austin Golson, running back Derrick Green, LSU wide receiver commit John Diarse, Virginia Tech safety commit Holland Fisher, Vanderbilt quarterback commit Johnathon McCrary, USC defensive end commit Kylie Fitts, safety Kameron Miles, running back Taquan Mizzell, Auburn defensive end Carl Lawson and defensive end Joe Mathis.

In addition to the nation's top class of 2013 prospects, 20 class-of-2014 prospects will be in attendance as well. The headliner is Woodbridge (Va.) defensive end Da'Shawn Hand, the potential top player in the country for his class.

Other top juniors-to-be set to compete include the likes of New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine running back Leonard Fournette, La Porte (Texas) linebacker Hoza Scott, New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr defensive end Gerald Willis III, Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy safety Jalen Tabor, Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Northridge athlete Bo Scarbrough, Monroe (La.) Neville safety Laurence Jones, Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra cornerback Adoree' Jackson and early Georgia wide receiver commit Demarre Kitt of Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek.
