Here's a quick look at the Big 12 as conference play begins

The TCU men's basketball team will begin their second season in the Big 12 Saturday afternoon when it hosts West Virginia at 3 p.m.

The Frogs' first season in the conference saw its share of ups and downs. The team finished last in the conference, which wasn't a surprise, but arguably pulled off the upset of the year by taking down Kansas in Fort Worth.

TCU's surprise win saw the Horned Frogs pull off the biggest upset in terms of RPI in the 20 years of its use. TCU was ranked 237 and Kansas was 7.

But that big highlight is in the past. It no doubt helped TCU land big freshmen Karviar Shepherd and Brandon Parrish. Shepherd is playing 30.2 minutes a game and Parrish is playing 28.
