Sprinkle talks SU

Elyria (Oh.) defensive end Tracy Sprinkle has a few offers in hand with more likely on the way. His first offer though came from the Syracuse Orange.

"They were my first offer and it was about a month ago," Sprinkle said. "I was excited once I got it. I was happy about the program and just happy because it was my first offer."

Sprinkle, 6-foot-4, 245 pounds has not always known about the Orange football team, but he is aware of Syracuse.

"I have heard about Syracuse, but I did not know much about their football team. I knew about Syracuse more because of their basketball program," Sprinkle stated. "I think it is a good school. I have heard that it is a good program and they are in a rebuilding stage."

A visit is in the works, but the Ohio product has yet to set a time.

"I plan on visiting Syracuse I do not know when, but I will be visiting them."

For the Orange Tyrone Wheatley is recruiting Sprinkle and the coach and player are getting along well at the start of the recruiting process."

"Coach Tyrone Wheatley is recruiting me. We have a good relationship, he is a good guy. When I call he always has good things to say about the recruiting process and the school. He is a good coach and a good guy."

Besides Syracuse a bunch f other schools have taken notice of Sprinkle.

"I have received offers from Toledo, Kentucky, and Arkansas, I am receiving interest from Ohio State, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Michigan, West Virginia, Duke, and Iowa. "I want to visit the schools that have already offered me. I have visited Ohio State before I want to go to Michigan State, and West Virginia."

A decision could happen anytime during the process.

"I have not thought about it. I figure when a college catches my eye I will know."

Last season he made All-State with 80 tackles, eight sacks, 25 quarterback hurries.
