Laster hears from the Orange

The 2012 football recruiting class is close to being full and that means that the Orange coaches can get a quick start looking at 2013. The Orange have already shown interest in a receiver prospect out of Ohio, De'Niro Laster.

Laster, 6-foot-3, 213 pounds talked about his interest from Syracuse.

"At first they started to look at me and they still are a little. I still like them."

The Ohio product knows that the Orange have been down in recent years, but he feels he is the kind of player to help bring them back.

"They're not the best team, but I've watched them and I think a player like me could help turn stuff around into the right direction."

Right now Laster is being looked at for a lot of positions including wide receiver and the wide receiver position is the first things he does think about when it comes to Syracuse.

"When I hear the name Syracuse I think of Marvin Harrison, a great wide receiver that I would like to be like and try to be better than some day."

There are a few other positions he plays well.

"I plan to play any position I am needed at. I will play wide receiver, tight end, or linebacker maybe even safety. I play all those positions pretty well."

A visit to Syracuse has not been taken at this time, but one after the football season is not out of the question.

"I haven't visited Syracuse, but I've thought about it and sometime during this offseason I will."

There are a few programs that already have received a visit from Laster.

"I've visited Ohio State, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Alabama, I liked all those trips so far especially Tennessee, I met all of the coaches and I loved the environment and how hyped their fans get. "

With a few visits under his belt are there any early favorites?

"I don't have any early favorites although colleges who have offered me and will offer me soon will catch my interest immediately."

Akron, Bowling Green, and Temple have offered already, but don't look for a quick commitment from Laster.

"To be fair to my coaches and teammates I plan on committing before the season if not then I will commit on signing day."
