DB, Zack Jackson keeping busy

Defensive back Zach Jackson remains busy this spring as he prepares for his senior season, but in the midst of that he is making sure that he hits the recruiting circuit as well.

"I'm currently working with a personal trainer, where we focus on speed and agility, as well as lifting weight at a place called "The Factory", says the 5-foot-11, 180 pound Jackson.

Jackson currently has two offers in hand … one from Army and Mississippi State, but the defensive back professes that another offer should be forthcoming.

"I went to Penn State on Saturday and they are going to offer me in the next couple of weeks," confirms Jackson who is out of Snellville (Ga) Brookwood High School.

"I really liked their facilities … they were great and it was an eye opener for me. The weight room, their field and their campus was beautiful, I really liked it."

And when Jackson is making his round to the various schools, you will typically see running back and teammate Nick Tompkins nearby, who also has an offer from Army and several other programs.

So what is the next stop for the Jackson?

"We are going to Virginia (UVA) on Saturday … me and Nick. They haven't reached out to me, but one of my trainers said they are interested in me," he shares.

Although Jackson has not heard from the Black Knights recently, he was quick to point out that he remains interested in Army where his older brother Josh is the starting cornerback.

Most the inquiries relative to Jackson's talents are as a safety, although he indicated that he would be open to play corner if called upon, but has a soft spot for the safety position.

And when asked what safety he esteems, his response was quick and to the point … as if he knew the question was forthcoming. "I really liked Eric Berry when he was at Tennessee," shared Jackson with a chuckle. will continue to follow Jackson throughout the summer and into his senior season.
