August 2, 2013TCU head football coach Gary Patterson said during his team's media day Wednesday that it may take "a year or two" to get the kind of linebacker talent he wanted.
Well that year or two turned into a day or two as TCU landed it's ninth member of the 2014 class when four-star linebacker Jimmie Swain committed to the Frogs.
"I will be spending my college career at #TCU," Swain tweeted while on campus for his second visit to the school. "Proud to say I'm now a horned frog! #fearthefrog."
Swain is the second four-star defensive player the Frogs have landed for 2014. Defensive lineman Zaycoven Henderson also has that distinction.
Linebacker is an area of need for the Horned Frogs as they lost out on other four-star linebackers James David to Baylor and Gyasi Akem to Oklahoma State.
TCU was in Swain's top five with Michigan, Michigan State, Oregon and Stanford. Earlier this summer, Swain talked about TCU to Rivals analyst Jason Howell.
"TCU is the only one of the top five I've visited already. When I went down there, I just enjoyed the campus and the team and the way they practice. Coach Patterson and I talk on a regular basis," Swain said. "I just loved what I saw when I went down there. Ever since then, I have just been all about TCU. I just loved the atmosphere and everything about that school."
