Texas tackle has Bulldogs in Top Three
Until last week, Mississippi State was the clear cut favorite for Tyler, Texas offensive tackle Gerron Anthony.
But after two offers last week, the 6-foot-4, 315-pounder now has three top schools. Both Oklahoma State and Louisiana-Monroe offered Anthony last week joining MSU, Houston and UTEP as the only schools to offer.
"My favorites would be OSU at the top then Mississippi State and then the University of Louisiana-Monroe," Anthony said.
Anthony was verbally offered by offensive line coach John Hevesy back during the spring and followed up with a written offer soon thereafter.
"They offered me a scholarship back during school one day back during the spring," Anthony said. "I had went to the doctor and (Hevesy) called me and I had a missed call. I called him back and he asked how my day was and said 'how about I throw in an offer from Mississippi State?' I told him 'that would be nice'. He called and told my coach and sent out the paperwork.
