Players in full support of Tuberville
In the aftermath of Saturday's loss to Alabama, several Auburn players were asked about Tommy Tuberville and his status as AU's head coach.
They were unanimous in their support.
"We're behind coach Tuberville 100 percent," junior cornerback Jerraud Powers said. "Right now, he's our coach. We can't control what other people think, but we want coach Tubs here. We want coach Tubs here. He's done a lot of great things. He's won a lot of big games. He's won a lot of games here."
The Tigers finished the 2008 season 5-7 with losses in six of their final seven games.
"I don't think this season should affect his future," Powers said. "He's not playing. We're the players. We're the ones playing every week, so we take the blame more than he'll take it, so I think he should stay."
Junior defensive end Antonio Coleman also said much of the blame for AU's losing season rests on the players.
