Maryland corner picks up Georgia offer

Travis Hawkins does not have a star rating yet on Rivals, but that will likely change when the rankings are updated again for this Maryland athlete. His offer list is quite impressive, and Georgia is just one of many top programs on that list. The Dawgs have had success up his way in the past, so they are trying again.

"Georgia just offered me last week, and Coach [Tony] Ball came by the school on Monday," said Jenkins.

"I was just walking down the hall one day last week at school when I found out. My coach (David Mencarini) came by and told me congrats on your Georgia off; I said are you serious, and he said yes, they just called me."

"I went back and I called Coach Ball about it. He told me that they were really excited about offering me, and that they want me to come there to play corner for them. He let me know the offer would come in the mail this week."

The offer from the Bulldogs pushes the Gaithersburg (Md.) Quince Orchard athlete's offer list close to 20.

"I have 18 offers now," he said. "Tennessee, Ohio State, and Michigan just offered me too."

He is not ready to name a leader or list of favorites, but the Dawgs are a school Hawkins is interested in.
