Kirkendoll waiting on the Irish
Steve Hare
IrishIllustrated.com Round Rock, Texas, wide receiver James Kirkendoll, a member of the Rivals250, has nearly 20 scholarship offers and interest from Notre Dame. The lack of an Irish offer hasn't kept Notre Dame out of his top five.
"I'm at 17 offers," he said. "The new ones this summer are, Texas, A&M, Colorado, Florida and that's about it. Notre Dame is still showing some interest but I don't have the offer yet. Right now I'm in Las Vegas for a basketball tournament, so I'm just relaxing. When I get back in town I'm going to start narrowing down the schools. Mostly, Florida, Miami, Oklahoma and Nebraska are my favorites. Notre Dame is definitely in the top five."
Notre Dame has remained in contact with the 5-foot-10, 178-pound 4-star athlete.
"I get mail and stuff and I talk to the coaches every now and then," he said. "They say to keep up the good work and keep working hard, stuff like that."
This summer Kirkendoll made several unofficial visits including a stop in South Bend for the adidas Camp. He thought his performance was good enough to earn an offer but he's still waiting for that to develop.
