Bruins offer Lone Star corner
The Bruin coaching staff is doing intensive research to see who they will give out their precious few scholarships this season. As always under Karl Dorrell regime they leave no stone unturned in their search for players who fit the UCLA profile of being both academically and athletically sound. The Bruins recently offered a cornerback from Texas.
The Bruins are looking for linebackers and defensive backs to help the cause in the future. One player the Bruin staff feels fits the bill is cornerback Jamell Fleming (5-10, 181, 4.4) from Arlington (Texas) Seguin.
Fleming only played five games a year ago due an injury. He tore a ligament in his finger and now he's 110 per cent healthy. He played the first two games of the season and suffered his injury in the second game. He also played the very next game before having surgery.
The scouting report on Fleming is he's a very physical cover corner. He will come up and make a hit in run support. His coverage skills are also top-notch and he has great closing speed.
Fleming is also an outstanding punt returner who displays great instincts and breakaway speed returning punts.
UCLA and Texas A&M are high on Fleming's list. Wisconsin and Baylor join UCLA with offers.
