Tony Banks had some explaining to do.

Here Banks was, having just finished coaching up the quarterback group at the Next Level Athlete Camp in Lancaster last Sunday, and he had an MVP award to give out.

Foster Sawyer and Grayson Muehlstein were the favorites, maybe even Desmon White, the speedster who led DeSoto to the 5A semifinals.

But in the end, no one likely could have predicted the winner Banks picked: Payne Sullins, a little-known junior from Waco Reicher.
