The comes a time in every father-son relationship when junior will surpass his old man in athletic ability. That time came this summer for Ray Crockett and his dad, a former NFL defensive back.

Crockett, a Southlake Carroll defensive back, said his father works with him primarily on footwork drills at cornerback. It took him until this summer to beat his dad because he still "works out and runs once in awhile."
