Eighth commit makes TCU new home

Arlington Bowie safety Steve Wesley's faith in TCU never faltered during his recruiting process.

Wesley chose the school that presented him with his first offer, TCU, Monday over four other offering suitors.

Wesley said TCU remained at the top of his list of schools throughout the entire recruiting process, over Illinois, Kansas, Wake Forest and West Virginia. Kansas finished second in the race to nab Wesley's commitment, Wesley said.

Despite Arlington being just minutes away from Fort Worth, Wesley said TCU just felt like home away from home.

"The coaching staff made sure that I felt at home there," Wesley said.

The 6-foot, 175-pound DB will feel right at home alongside former Bowie QB Kolby Listenbee and Arlington Martin defensive end Devonte Fields in TCU purple and white next fall.
