Bruins to battle Bears in Berkeley
The UCLA Bruins (6-8, 1-1) will face the California Bears (9-4, 1-0) on Wednesday evening at 7:30 at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, California. The Bears are coming off an impressive conference opener, defeating arch rival Stanford 92-66 on Saturday. The Bruins are coming off of a disappointing home loss to Arizona on Saturday morning.
The Bears' four losses have all been away from their home floor against quality teams. They lost to Syracuse and Ohio State in New York as well as on the road to New Mexico and Kansas. The Bruins lost to Kansas at home 73-61 while Cal lost to Kansas in Lawrence 84-69. The Bears have won three in a row since that loss.
The strength of the Bears is clearly on the perimeter led by their guard combination of 5-10 senior point guard Jerome Randle and 6-5 senior Patrick Christopher at the other guard position.
